Teenage stress: Admit and analyze what is causing you stress

It can be easy to sweep teenage stress under the carpet as growing pains, but before you can help teens deal with stress, I find it important to also admit that there is a problem.

Admitting there is a problem is one of the first steps to dealing with teen stress and stopping it steamroll into teen depression or anxiety.

Admitting there is a problem is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength that something needs to change.

Once the problem is identified I find it useful to identify the causes of teen stress. What are you doing to reduce this stress? What stress reducers can I use? Who can I talk to for support?

Part of the problem with relieving teenage stress is simply getting the teenager to talk and articulate to others and themselves about what is causing stress for them.

Once this happens then they can come to an understanding that they are not alone and seek support and help for teen stress.
